Beratis Associations---Greece Earth Crone Imbolg Death Tapes Found On---Camp 94 Origin---Greece Choreographer---traditional Notes The dance moves through the drama of Persephone walking in the fields, hesitatingly, in the old myth of the Rape of Persephone, wherein Hades captures her for his wife and queen in the underworld. Persephone was Queen of Death and Birth. The more true and older version of the myth has no rape. That part was probably created by the patriarchal Greek culture when they could not hold with the power of women. The power of Persephone (Kore) in death and rebirth was central to the old Mystery Schools of Delphi. Beratis may well be a very ancient dance (or a derivative of) reaching back into the third millennia BC.
