Notes
It is said Darrone was danced before the Armenian men went to battle.
In the first part, we ëgird our loinsí.
In the second part the movements may indicate:
1) saluting the Sun (the Law of the Mountain, the One)
2)looking in the mirror of the hand to witness oneís own worth
(divinity)
3)side-stepping one way and taking the vow of the Heart, we look
the other, thusly trusting our fate to the care of our brothers.
.
This is one of the few warrior dances I will teach. It is especially
appropriate for groups of men. The qualities of the movements are rich
in integrity, honor of the truest sort and faith.
.
The culture that this dance hails from is centered very near the
area of the world where the first patriarchal Kurgan people originated
and swept out from beginning about 4500 BC. Within the movements one can
attune to the higher qualities of the patriarchal cultures which finally
(by 1350 BC) replaced all of the major matriarchies in the Old World.
