Notes
Traditionally sung unaccompanied by musical instruments by two
groups of women singing the alternate lines to one another.
The undulating movement and the undulating vocals of this dance,
especially in light of the basketweave hold which necessitates that the
entire open circle move and undulate as one, lends its self greatly to
the facilitator who is attempting to cultivate that quality of being sometimes
referred to as ěThe Union of Sacred Time and Sacred Spaceî. The dance moves
the circle towards this by movement qualities which engender a soft and
deep state which, if the inner intent of the circle is set correctly, brings
the participants within a breath of being in the state of Direct Knowledge.
That is, to a state where-in the daily rational mind rests and the deep
oceanic heart mind is cooed to resonant life.
