ìHalf of a Droî, referring to the footwork,
three forward and one back,
not three forward and three back as in a ìFull Droî or ìAn Droî
from the Varnes area of on the south coast of Brittany.
(See also An Dro)
The dance is done in a circle or in an open circle or line,
often for hours through the village during festival times.
The Varnes are has many standing stone configurations from ancient
times.
Many believe that these dances were danced
winding through the standing stones or ëmenhirsí.
.
I will often use this dance to 'move' from the introductory part
of an event into the more focused and contemplative part of an event or
session. When used in this way very often I will literally lead the twining
line of dancers from one area (room or garden) into another area where
the deeper facilitation will occur.
Moving into Sacred Space and Sacred Time.

I was handsome and gallant, oh.
The love-sick women wanted to see me
