Notes
The dance moves to the phrases of the music, so while the steps
themselves are moderate to moderately fast, the dance moves slowly enough
so that I have often found it not necessary to teach it. This is one of
the ëEntry Danceí I will use when facilitating a LongDance event (see glossary).
When people arrive for the dance, we are already dancing to a very long
version of the music. As they arrive, they enter the dance room, center,
attune, and then enter the circle of dance without causing a ripple either
physically, emotionally or mentally. Very often I will end a LongDance
Session in the same manner. The people will leave, one by one, no words
spoken, as we are in the final dance, without causing a ripple either physically,
emotionally or mentally. In this way we hopefully leave the circle and
the dance sealed in Sacred Time Sacred Place.
For more information on the LongDance and for training in the facilitation
of it, contact Shaker.
