Notes
a wedding blessing dance,
The title means ìmay life unfold wellî
and is a dance song associated with Lent en customs of the Rhodope Mt region, where intentions of marriage are often announced on Lazarovden
(St. Lazarus Day) which is also Palm Sunday.
Razvivaj Dobro is sung and danced only by women.
Tradition has it that the horo is headed by a mother
who is still nursing a baby and has no dead children.
The style is graceful, feminine and subdued,.
The meter in this version is 7/8

Words in English
May Life unfold well and blossom
Like leaves on the walnut tree
Under the walnut tree were sitting
skilled tailors and goldsmiths
The tailors were sewing a saddle
The goldsmiths were laying a bridle
Making everything ready for the bride
And the matchmakers to come

Words in Native Tongue
Razvivaj, dobro, povivaj
Oreh si listi razviva
Pod orehine listi sedjana
Terzii, dobro, zlatari
Terzii sedla sieha
Zlatari jusdi leeha
Za nevjasta sa gotveha
Dori Dovede svatove
