Plucking The
Rose
This small gesture is often referred
to in the language of Ceremonial Yoga.
In
essence, the image describes a gesture where-in the hands and
wrists
melt into a delicate
intent,
and form a mudra that looks like a hand
plucking a rose with the thumb and one or two fingers.
Depending upon the phrase in which the
gesture arises,
we may be plucking the rose
from the heart
(as in
The
Panther)
or we
may be plucking the rose from the
earth
(perhaps rising out of a kneeling
position
or
in
a transformation of The
Lancer)
or
perhaps
from thin air
(as in the transformation of
The Sword of
Truth)
